Description

Cryptocoryne undulata « Broad Leaf » is a robust aquarium plant native to Sri Lanka. Its broad, slightly wavy leaves display magnificent shades of olive green, bronze and red brown. It naturally brings volume, depth and contrast to the aquascape.

Easy to care for and very adaptable, it suits both beginner aquarists and aquascaping enthusiasts. Under moderate lighting, it develops rather tall, green-brown leaves. Stronger light, regular fertilisation and a CO₂ supply encourage more compact growth as well as more pronounced red-brown tones.

Characteristics:

• Difficulty: easy
• Type: rosette plant
• Position: middle of the aquarium
• Adult height: about 15 to 30 cm
• Rosette width: about 10 to 20 cm
• Growth: medium
• Light requirement: low to medium
• CO₂ requirement: low, but a supply improves growth
• Origin: Sri Lanka, Asia
• Packaging: in vitro culture in a closed pot

Advantages of in vitro cultivation:

• Free of snails
• Free of algae
• Free of pesticides
• Suitable for aquariums with shrimp
• Several young plants in a single pot

Planting tips:

Remove the plant from the pot and carefully rinse off the nutrient gel with clean water. Gently separate the tuft into several small portions, then plant them in a nutrient substrate, spacing each portion slightly apart.

Bury only the roots and leave the crown of the plant visible. A slight loss of leaves may occur during acclimatisation: the plant will then produce new leaves adapted to the conditions of your aquarium.
