Echinodorus grisebachii ‘Tropica’ – Tropica 1-2-Grow! in vitro

Echinodorus grisebachii ‘Tropica’ is a small rosette aquarium plant, also known as Echinodorus parviflorus ‘Tropica’. Its compact growth and slightly textured medium- to dark-green leaves make it an excellent plant for structuring the foreground or the middle of the aquarium.

Unlike the large Amazon sword plants, this variety generally stays low. It is therefore perfectly suited to small aquariums, nano aquariums and aquascaping compositions.

Easy to care for and slow-growing, it also suits beginner aquarists. A nutrient substrate or the occasional use of fertiliser capsules at the roots encourages its development. Adding CO₂ is not essential but improves its density and growth.

Planting tips:

Gently remove the plant from the pot, then carefully rinse off the nutrient gel with clean water. Divide the tuft into several small portions before planting them in the substrate.

Bury only the roots. The central crown of each rosette must remain visible to prevent it from rotting. Leave a little space around the plants to allow them to gradually form a compact rosette.
